The Tax Management feature in the Meal Prep system enables you to define and manage tax groups for meal deliveries. You can customize tax percentages, assign them to specific regions, and ensure compliance with local regulations.
Accessing Tax Management
- Navigate to the Meal Prep section in the sidebar.
- Select Tax Management from the dropdown menu.
- The Tax Group dashboard will display existing tax groups with details like:
- Name: The name of the tax group (e.g., Florida).
- Percentage: The tax rate applied.
- Allowed Zip Codes: The number of zip codes included in the group.

1. Tax Group Dashboard
The dashboard provides an overview of all created tax groups, allowing you to manage and review tax settings effectively. Key actions include:
- Edit: Modify the tax group details.
- Delete: Remove a tax group.
2. Auto-Calculate Taxes
At the top of the Tax Management page, there is an option to enable Auto Calculate Taxes Based on Postal Code. This feature allows the system to automatically determine tax rates based on customer location.
How to Create a New Tax Group
- Click the + Add button in the top-right corner of the Tax Management page.
- Fill out the required fields in the Add Tax Group form:
- Name: Enter the name of the tax group (e.g., Florida).
- Percentage: Specify the tax percentage (e.g., 10%).
- Allowed Zip Codes: Add the postal codes that fall under this tax group.
- Click Save to create the tax group.
Editing a Tax Group
- Locate the tax group you wish to update on the dashboard.
- Click the Edit link next to the group name.
- Update the details as needed and click Save.
Deleting a Tax Group
- Find the tax group you want to remove on the dashboard.
- Click the Delete link next to the group name.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.

- Enable Auto-Calculate: Simplify tax calculations by enabling the auto-calculate feature if your deliveries span multiple regions.
- Keep Zip Codes Updated: Ensure that zip codes in each tax group align with local regulations to avoid errors.
- Regular Reviews: Periodically review tax percentages to ensure they comply with changing tax laws.
